Any day of the year is the best time to tan. But sometimes sunless tanner users glow up lighter and darker at certain times to keep up with the seasonal changes. During certain months, when the sun is further away, our bodies aren’t getting the natural tan like they would if we were outside. And opposite, when the sun is closer to us, we are getting natural rays, but they aren’t great for our bodies. Let’s discuss seasonal tans and how to appropriately apply Solrae’s sunless products.
Spring Tan Season
Spring is the time of year that everyone is looking forward to that summer tan! We all get antsy to get outside and get our summer bods ready. But let’s be real. If you go too dark with a sunless tanner, everyone is going to comment (even though it looks great!) And if you go too light, no one is going to notice a thing. This time of the year is the time to perfect a slight glow and gradually go darker once you get closer to the summer months.
If you are using Self Tanning Mousse, start with one layer and work up to several layers as the days and weeks go on. The Solrae Sunless Gradual Tanning Lotion is also great for this time of the year as it will work results overnight. The lotion is perfect for very fair skin tones.
Summer Tan Season
Summer is really the time when our bodies end up getting a natural tan from the sun. However, we all know by now how harmful UV rays are, so it is important to protect your skin. Using a sunless tanner, even in the summer time, can help keep you safely glowing.
This is the season where you can go as dark as you want with your sunless tanner and try out a product that maybe you have been nervous to try before. The more layers you put on, the darker you will be. If it is early summer, you may want to go lighter and gradually work your tan darker as the weeks go by. A good rule of thumb is to add a layer each week if you want to keep going darker. Remember that moisturizer is key to keeping your sunless tan looking fresh! Don’t forget your sunscreen and hat!
Fall Tan Season
Fall is the time that you can let your tan lighten up. Seasonal colors like oranges, browns and darker yellows will help your skin to look tan, even if you aren’t as tan as you’d like. Just maintain your tanned shade this time of the year and don’t go darker than you usually would for the summer.
Winter Tan Season
The winter blues can get the best of us all. Our skin is dry, flaky and just not up to par with our summer skin. But be careful about going too dark in the winter. A natural glow will look great during this time of the year. A thin layer of Solrae Tanning Gel for your face and body will give you the natural looking radiance you desire. You can also just do the chest up if you really want to because usually everyone is all bundled up this time of year. No worries if you have a special event that you need to show of those arms and legs for. The gel will get you tan right away!
